Did you know that mammoths and mastodons were residents of the San Diego region over 10,000 years ago? Learn more about your prehistoric neighbors from the Museum’s Curator of Paleontology Tom Deméré, Ph.D.
From fossils of American Mastodons in Otay Mesa, Southern Mammoths in downtown San Diego, and Columbian Mammoths and American Mastodons from Oceanside and Carlsbad, Dr. Deméré will explain how these remains reveal a lost world populated by thousands of generations of immense land mammals.
