April 18th, before the Department Annual Alumni Banquet, we had the official opening and dedication of the R. Gordon Gastil Geology Seminar Room. Numerous Alumni and Friends were in attendance and there was no shortage of Gordon stories. City Council Member Marty Emerald presented a special proclamation for the opening of the room in honor of Gordon and his many contributions to the community of San Diego.
