Otilio Rojas is Professor and Head of the Computer Science Department at Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), in Caracas, Venezuela. He has worked and published extensively on numerical methods for simulating seismic waves and earthquake rupture. Jaime Parada is also a Professor in the Computer Science Department at UCV, specializing in parallel and distributed computing. Otilio and Jaime are visiting SDSU until December, collaborating with Kim Olsen and Steven Day on several research problems in Computational Seismology.
